about

The original concept of Vanishing Point was to be a double-double, but somehow the vol. 1 tracks didn't quite fit - we either ended up with a lot of unused time or too much music to fit on one of the discs. To resolve this, we trimmed it down to a single disc by dropping one candidate track and making a shorter edit of Ranger Station.

But the idea wouldn't go away, and happily digital allows us to release the additional material and complete the concept. Further excavation gave us another track to fill out the collection.

You could think of this as VP1 part two, but it's already complicated enough so VP3 it is.

Ranger Station is the longer edit of the VP1 track, and it really does benefit from the extra space.

Diastole is taken from the One Thousand Pulses concert. It joins an intro and outro section to give a complete abstract piece.

The final track was originally called Necrophone, which we lazily recycled for the VP1 track. This is the real thing though, as it features the otherworldy sounds found on John's answerphone while wandering through a deserted and decaying cemetery. As you do.

We've made the price slightly lower, as if you have volume one then some of the material is duplicated. Only seems fair!
