about

Doom Bar is not a typical AirSculpture album. It was recorded at a band retreat in Cornwall and is entirely beatless ambience. The band has always explored this territory but usually in the form of short tracks of abstract bridges. Here it is undiluted.

After a day spent creating sounds and developing ideas, then waiting for the sun to go down the title track was recorded in a single take. The second track, Voter Run, is actually the introduction to a longer unreleased track but the atmospheric section stands on its own as a companion to Doom Bar with a very similar feel.

The original artwork was an almost black cover, with the details barely visible. This may not have been the best idea for a digital album which would often be seen on small screens, so for this release it has been lightened up. The original none-more-black version is included in the download for anyone who prefers it.
